Celebrating Faith and Social Action

I think you will agree that there are many inspiring projects in our local communities in London which bring people together. The good work being done by these projects is often overlooked, and often overwhelmed by negative media coverage. 3FF believes their work needs to be recognised and elevated now more than ever.
In this spirit, 3FF will be hosting ‘An Evening of Faith Recognition and Celebration’ on 27 November, with the support of Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London’s Council on Faith.
The evening will bring together organisations and individuals across London who deserve recognition for building bridges between Londoners of all faiths and beliefs. It will also be an opportunity to share successes and celebrate the work of those who seek to enrich Londoners’ sense of belonging.

Who can be nominated?

We want to recognise those that work at the community level whose work is sometimes overlooked. The main focus of the event is how communities are working across London on issues of social exclusion, in whatever form this takes, and aiming to increase Londoner’s sense of belonging within the capital by building bridges and increasing cooperation.

Nomination Criteria

Individuals and/or organisations can be nominated from any faith, belief or none.
  1. Nominees should be based in Greater London and should be involved in initiatives which seek to increase a sense of belonging across London’s diverse communities, particularly within marginalised communities, and/or;
  2. Nominees should work with groups from different faiths or none to build bridges and impact on increasing life chances or wellbeing.

How does the nomination process work?

What is the Council on Faith?

Through its rich heritage and large and diverse population, London is home to groups from many faiths and beliefs. Faith is one of the three key dimensions of the Lord-Lieutenants strategy entitled Building bridges for a fairer London. The Lord-Lieutenant’s Council on Faith was established to work with faith groups and individual believers to assist their engagement with the wider London population. The Council on Faith is made up of Deputy Lieutenants of the Greater London Lieutenancy.
